RE: Dual Motor Landing Gear

I was chewing up bevel gears because the area that held the screw centers was worn. So the bevel gears weren't held tight together.
Required replacement of the whole leg.
Looks like you can get them for $650--

RE: 35 Amp

You can probably run everything except a bunch of electric heaters.
You water heater will be the biggest built-in user.

Printer drivers

I got a new computer, no new printer. Running the my old Epson driver and utility CD said I needed a 64 bit version.
Went to Epson and downloaded a version for Vista 64 bit. When asked to run or save, I selected "save"---don't know if that's right.
So downloaded the file and kinda unzipped it. Wound up with a Epson Scanner something in my programs. It wouldn't open. Nor would the computerconnect to the printer.
I uninstalled that program.
I do have a 24MB file on my C drive called Epson driver and Epson scan utility.
Any ideas?

RE: Installing rails for 5th wheel hitch

I had the "Pros" install my first one. They put only one bolt in each bracket.
So, I have done the last three myself.
Someone mentioned "let the warranty be on them". I promise you, if they screw up your frame, they wouldn't be buying you a new one. At least not until you spend about the cost of a frame on an attorney.

RE: Rookie Ferry Question

You could "hide" in your RV. But you can't come and go to the car deck at your will.

So, where do you stay when you visit Disney?

RE: Denali N.P. ...is it worth it?

Are you pressed for time?
If time isn't the issue and neither is money. Then go from Tok to Fairbanks, and then to Denali. Then to the Kenai--Seward and Homer---and Kodiak. That way you are saving the best for last.
You must have a time issue? Or you wouldn't be asking.
And don't forget Valdez.
And Haines?
And Skagway?
You are are going to drive 3800 miles, go see yor friends. Then turn aroun and drive 3800 miles home?

RE: Putting my 5th wheel on jack stands for the winter

I would think the "dynamic" forces of going down the road hitting pot holes and such would be a lot greater the the static forces of just sitting there. I wouldn't worry about it.

RE: Disappointing WDW Campsite

I must disagree with Gunship Guy. The WDW campsites are NOT worth $100 per night. No slab of asphalt is worth $100 per night. WDW has priced themselves out of my market.
I don't know if you have tried to book a site there lately.
Don't see many of the premium sites being available.
Usually the lower end sites are more available.
Must be "worth it" to a lot more folks.

RE: Reservation Hogs

Kinda silly. Some folks actually plan ahead and do what is necessary, while following the rules, to get the spot they want.
Learn from them.

RE: Skagway to Haines fast ferry questions

Downtown Haines is very close to the docks, but not a lot there to see.
Fort Seward is probably beyond walking distance. And Chilkoot definetly is. both worth seeing.
I would (meaning do) drive to one (Skagway on the way up,or Haines on the way back) stay a while, then take the ferry to the other.
The drive into Skagway is one of the nicest on the trip. And Skagway is a fun little twon with stuff to do. Haines, a full day or two is plenty.

RE: Ferry service between Skagway & Haines

they kept saying "look at me, not your mirror."
Had I not done that, I might not have bashed my mirror.
You need to be responsible for your rig. The guys on the ferry aren't always perfect.
